Half standard plants (1/2 standards) feature a clear stem of around 1–1.5 metres topped with a neat, rounded crown of foliage and flowers. Commonly seen in roses and shrubs, they add height, structure, and a formal focal point to borders, patios, and entrances.
Half standards are perfect for adding structure at eye level in smaller gardens, while full standard trees create more height and impact in larger spaces.
