Plants need good soil conditions for them to be at their healthiest. Improving the soil with our Tree and Shrub compost helps drainage and aeration on heavy soils and helps keep essential moisture on light soils.

Our Tree and Shrub compost is also a great mulch which can be used to mulch on top of your soil enriching the soil and allowing worms to help incorporate it in to the soil beneath.

How to apply our Tree and Shrub compost

• If needed dig the soil thoroughly, breaking up large lumps to relieve compaction.
• Add the Tree and Shrub compost to a minimum of 5cm over the surface before digging/forking it in.
• Firm the soil which has been dug over and break up any large lumps of soil with the back of a fork.
• Rake the soil to remove any large stones. This will creates an even layer for planting or sowing.
