Delivery Terms & Conditions

Delivery Terms & Conditions – Twickenham Plant Centre

Acceptance of Terms

By placing an order with Twickenham Plant Centre, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Delivery Terms & Conditions.

Nothing in these Delivery Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable consumer protection legislation.

1. Payment History & Right to Refuse Delivery

Twickenham Plant Centre reserves the right to refuse or restrict delivery to any address where there is a history of unpaid invoices, failed payments, chargebacks, or previous non-payment.

In such cases, we may require payment in full prior to delivery, offer collection only, or decline to supply goods.

2. Delivery Vehicles

Deliveries may be carried out using Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) of up to 18-tonne or 24-tonne, depending on operational requirements and availability.

These vehicles are significantly larger and heavier than standard domestic vehicles.

3. Acknowledgement of Risk – HGV Access

By requesting delivery to your property, you acknowledge and accept that:

  1. HGVs may cause damage to driveways, paving, kerbs, verges, lawns, underground drains, services, or other structures.

  2. Domestic driveways and private access routes are not normally designed to accommodate vehicles of this size unless specifically constructed to do so.

  3. Access to private property is granted at your request and at your own risk.

4. Delivery Access & Beyond Kerbside Requests

  1. You are responsible for ensuring that safe, suitable, and unobstructed access is available for delivery vehicles and delivery teams. The route to the delivery location must be clear at the time of delivery.

  2. Any request for delivery beyond the kerbside (including onto driveways or private land) is made entirely at your own risk. This includes the risk of damage to property, surfaces, landscaping, buildings, or personal belongings.

  3. All requests for delivery beyond the kerbside must be made at the point of purchase and clearly stated in the delivery instructions. Requests not included in the delivery instructions or submitted after the order has been placed may not be accommodated.

5. Health & Safety

Our delivery teams must comply with all applicable health and safety procedures.

The delivery team reserves the right to refuse, stop, or amend a delivery where, in their reasonable opinion, proceeding would place themselves, others, the goods, or property at risk of injury, danger, or damage.

6. Respect & Safety

Twickenham Plant Centre is a family-run business and we ask that all customers treat our drivers and staff with courtesy and respect. Abusive, aggressive, or threatening behaviour towards our team will not be tolerated.

Our delivery teams will not carry out any manoeuvre or comply with any request that they reasonably consider to be unsafe or likely to put people, property, vehicles, or goods at risk.

7. Site Suitability & Access Concerns

If you believe delivery access may present difficulties (including narrow access, weight restrictions, steep gradients, soft ground, restricted manoeuvring space, or overhead obstructions), you must notify us prior to delivery.

Please speak to a member of staff in-store or contact Twickenham Plant Centre 020 8898 7131 office@twickenhamplantcentre.co.uk before your scheduled delivery date.

Failure to notify us of access issues may result in a failed delivery and additional charges.

8. Animals on Site

Customers must ensure that dogs or other animals are securely restrained and kept away from the delivery area for the duration of the delivery.

9. Customer Absence at Time of Delivery

  1. If you are not present at the time of delivery, goods will be delivered in accordance with the delivery instructions provided at the point of purchase.

  2. Our delivery team may take a photograph as proof of delivery.

  3. Once goods have been delivered in accordance with your instructions, responsibility for the goods passes to you.

  4. We cannot accept responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to goods left unattended at your request.

10. Delivery Waiver, Proof of Delivery & Reporting Issues

  1. You may be required to sign a delivery waiver on receipt of goods, confirming acceptance of delivery access and any agreed delivery conditions.

  2. Where no one is present to accept delivery, photographic evidence of delivery may be taken as proof of delivery.

  3. Any issues relating to delivery condition, visible damage, or missing items should be reported to Twickenham Plant Centre within 24 hours of delivery.

  4. This reporting requirement does not affect your statutory rights in relation to faulty goods or goods not supplied in accordance with your contract.

11. Liability

Subject to your statutory rights, we are not responsible for damage arising from delivery access granted at your request beyond the kerbside, unless such damage is caused by our negligence.
